Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are fast approaching the end of the Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle examinations and, thankfully, most students seem very happy with how they have been doing. Some students still have a number of papers to sit, and it is important that they keep their focus right until the end.
I am asking your support around the following:
It has been announced that the Leaving Cert results will be published on Friday, August 21st. Students will be able to access their results on the Student Portal from 10.00am that day. Results will also be available at the school from 10.00 that morning, and all students are invited to be there. The Principal, Deputy Principal, Guidance Teachers and other staff members will be on-site, both to share in the celebrations and to provide advice and support, as required.
Best wishes are extended to all students for their remaining exams and for the summer ahead.
These good wishes are also extended to you, the students' families. We have very much appreciated all of your support this school year, and particularly throughout this stressful exam period.
Best regards,
John Murphy,
Principal.

Mr. John Murphy, Principal, has announced that he will retire from his position in August this year. Mr Murphy has been the school's Principal for the past fourteen years and, prior to that, was Deputy Principal. He first started teaching at St. Kilian's in 1985 and, for the majority of his career, was a Mathematics teacher. For many years, Mr. Murphy was a part of the school's Adult Education team, and he has always been greatly involved in the extra-curricular life of the school, particularly basketball.
The Board of Management will shortly begin the process of appointing a new Principal.
