St. Kilian's Community School, Ballywaltrim, Bray

Adult Education

At an early stage in the history of St. Kilian's, Kevin Meehan and Patricia Ahearne O'Farrell set up an Adult Education Department which provided education pathways for adults in the community.

Further education opportunities were provided in areas such as management, languages and computers. Several third level colleges based extra-mural courses at the school. Recreational and fitness classes such as drawing, flower arranging, stained glass, yoga and many forms of dancing proved extremely popular.

The school was well-known for many years for its highly successful Christmas Craft Fairs, organised by Margot O'Shea.

Subsequent Directors of Adult Education included:

Mr Matthew Carr

Mr Mark Flynn
